8/7/2017 0 Comments The Tale of a Bad Hair Day The other day, a random stranger reached up and touched my hair. I felt like a baby lamb in a petting zoo. Even worse, I hadn’t washed, moisturized, or combed my hair in a while. Given the fact that this stranger was another sister who had unprocessed hair, like me, I wished I had at least applied some more moisturizer before going out. As she twirled her fingers into my hair, I was silently judging myself for being a lazy, non-hair styling, bum. Imagine my surprise when this elegantly coifed sister said “Your afro so soft girl!”. Woo-hoo! Ash Kickin Hair Moisturizer and Black Soap Shampoo did that! I shouldn’t have been so surprised. After all, the lanolin used in the Hair Moisturizer is a humectant, meaning - it actually draws in moisture from the air over time. So, even though I hadn’t applied any in days, my hair was still “funky fresh, dressed to impress, and ready to party”. Ok, maybe it wasn’t funky fresh but, it was that evening when I washed the dirt out with my African Black Soap shampoo. Using a shampoo specially formulated for my naturally dry hair is a must! Instead of stripping out all of the moisture, I clean out the dirt while leaving my curls, soft, bouncy, and manageable. I have to say I am very proud of these products that we have crafted with love, for a lovely people.
